Unlike the traditional leaves, PTOs do not distinguish absences of employees from their personal days, sick days, or vacation days. Every company determines the number of PTO hours while employing an individual. This depends on the company policies and terms. Usually, PTOs are calculated annually. It also varies or increases with the period of service of an employee.
