Post Graduate Teacher
PGT Full Form is Post Graduate Teacher. PGT is a term that simply identifies the level and post of a teacher in a school or any other institution. It is the abbreviated term for Post Graduate Teacher. As the term itself indicates, such teachers must possess a post-graduate degree in their respective subjects. Schools, colleges, and institutions prefer PGTs rather than those who only possess an undergraduate degree.
There are prescribed and specified norms for candidates who want to apply for the post of PGT in government or non-government schools and other educational institutions. A PGT candidate must have passed post-graduation with at least 50% marks in the respective subject and he also must have the degree of B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) from a recognized university. But like the TGT candidates, PGT applicants also have to pass the Teachers Eligibility Test conducted centrally or regionally.
PGTs are recognized as experts in their respective field of studies. This is why they are given more value both on social grounds and in the sector of the job. They have a better salary than the TGTs and enjoys many other benefits. These specialized teachers are in high demand nowadays for they can provide their students a specific and clear perspective and build the students accordingly to build a better future generation.
